Though it took a few years longer than expected, I am poised to start teaching preschool this fall at my mom's beautiful little childcare center in Boxboro, MA. I grew up working there and haven't been back regularly since I was about 18 years old.
So I have a few more wrinkles. I also have 3 kids of my own and a God-given appreciation for the spirits of children. I have been a nanny, a Daisy leader, an art teacher, yoga-guru to kids -- in general, a woman who loves and appreciates children.
I am excited to start this new endeavor -- for three mornings a week, I will work with kids age 2.9 - 4 with the help of Eileen from Little Acorn Learning, who writes the unbelievably awe-inspiring Nature-based curriculum I will be using. Daily nature walks, journaling and unlimited access to arts and music. Doesn't it sound divine? I even have a spare guitar to leave at work.
Never one to wish summer away, I find myself counting down the days. If you live in the Boxboro area, please share this program with your friends, as I believe there are still 2 or 3 spots in the class :-)
